Mike Carver (BA Hons, MA, PGCE History) has been a teacher of History for twenty five years in the UK and most recently in France. He was Head of History at Battle Abbey School for twelve years where he set up the 1066 Schools History Conference for A Level students. He has also worked as a tour guide locally, in Oxford, London and overseas for many years.
Mike has a particular interest in battlefield archaeology and education having taken a Masters Degree in Heritage Management and is very committed to the teaching of medieval history. Having lived in the wonderfully historic setting of Rye Citadel for several years, he set up Rye History Walks to bring his interest and passion for Rye’s fascinating past, and medieval and Tudor history in general, to a wider audience.
If you have any questions or you would like to book Mike for a private walk of Rye, Hastings Old Town, Winchelsea or the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, please feel free to get in touch.
